Examples of Custom Data Processing
Sorting of data by customer-specified categories with output to requested media types
Insertion of customized banners and/or index information at the beginning and end of files or objects to help with the loading of converted data in a new system
Conversion processing:
- proprietary format to neutral format (e.g. – original print line or customer specified format) for loading wherever required
- non-standard TIFF to standard TIFF format
- non-standard jpeg to standard jpeg
- pdf-to-afp and afp-to-pdf
- html-to-afp and afp-to-html
- Modifying image data streams to state-of-the-art standards and algorithms
Custom processing during conversion:
- Gray scale enhancement, resizing, and re-orientation of images
- Splitting files into separate elements, modifying the elements, and regrouping and reassembling the elements
- Extracting new index information directly from the data or other files.
- In conjunction with the objects, this information allows more sophisticated access to converted data in the day-forward application.
Migrating data from low-density media to high-density media and from one storage sub-system to another
Porting existing definitions from one system to another
Automating the mapping of definitions from one system to another
Conversion of data and transfer to interim media for further processing and loading by other vendors or clients
